Videos for Pro-Life Feminist Messages
With professionally done videos that expand on themes that pro-life feminists have been making for decades, Live Action has a new video series. It includes “Prochoice Bosses - A Generous Offer” and “Pro-Choice Bosses - Hire NBD” satires on the hypocrisy of bosses who claim to be for women’s rights but then push abortions for their pregnant employees to avoid making reasonable accommodations. Another video has men explaining that “Abortion Rights are Pro-Choice Men’s Rights.”
These should be very useful for education in a wide array of circumstances.
Reaction so far: some women share their own stories of pregnancy discrimination. On the other side, some Instagram comments demonstrate how abortion does in fact increase pregnancy discrimination and therefore discrimination against women. If those kinds of comments come up on occasions when the videos are used, then there’s another teachable moment.
In Nigeria, Abortion Used as a Tool of War
A Reuters investigation found: Nigeria military ran secret mass abortion program in war on Boko Haram. They report: “Since at least 2013, the Nigerian military has conducted a secret, systematic and illegal abortion programme in the country’s northeast, ending at least 10,000 pregnancies among women and girls, a Reuters investigation has found. Many had been kidnapped and raped by Islamist militants. Resisters were beaten, held at gunpoint or drugged into compliance, witnesses say.”
